Gas Boiler Legislation

Gas Boiler Legislation image

Any boilers that are of a gas-fired nature installed after 1st April 2005 and any oil-fired boilers installed after 1st April 2007 must be condensing boilers, regardless of whether they are going to be new installations or are just replacements for an older boiler.

Under recent boiler regulations, condensing boilers are a lot more efficient and therefore more worthwhile for a number of reasons:

The new standards apply only if you decided to change from a boiler that was installed before either of the aforementioned dates. They are a result of increasing worry over climate change as the general population increases its efforts to be energy-efficient in the face of ever-increasing amounts of carbon dioxide, as 16% of the UK’s total carbon dioxide output stems from gas and oil boilers.

In essence, the new regulation boilers will not only help to tackle climate change, but will also help you to save money on your energy bills.
